Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Stepdown Unit plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular conditions. This position requires strong clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to health conditions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), which serves over 4,000 cardiology patients annually.
• Assist in various procedures, including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers.
• Care for open heart surgery patients during their initial recovery period (18-24 hours post-op).
• Specialize in managing patients with congestive heart failure and those undergoing electrophysiology studies.
• Participate in clinical trials managed by the research department.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year of Stepdown experience is required.
• Proficiency in cardiac care is essential.
• Comfort with EKG interpretation is necessary.
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Must hold a valid nursing license in Michigan.
• Travel may be required for this position.

Attendance Policy:

It is important to note that the organization enforces a strict attendance policy. Any RN who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift three times will face immediate termination, unless the absence is due to a communicable disease or hospitalization, with supporting evidence provided.
