Registered Nurse (RN) – MS/Tele

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a MedSurg environment. This role requires experience in MS/Tele and the ability to float between units as needed. Weekend coverage is mandatory, with expectations to cover every other weekend or as required by staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage care for 5-6 med-surgical patients, focusing on non-monitor tasks.
• Perform dressing changes and provide care for patients with wound vacs and drains.
• Receive patients from the PACU, ICU, and ED.
• Maintain an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 during both day and night shifts.
• Direct and collaborate with three support staff members on duty.
• Participate effectively in floating to other units based on competency and patient care demands.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina.
• Minimum of one year of experience with Epic electronic health records.
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS; NIHSS certification preferred.
• Experience with urology and vascular care is essential.
• Ability to pass an EKG exam as part of prestart modules.

Patient Care Focus

This unit specializes in caring for vascular and urology patients, receiving overflow cases from general surgery, women’s specialty, and medicine. The average length of stay is typically between one to two days.

Working Hours

This position requires a night shift of three 12-hour shifts, from 19:00 to 07:30. Block schedules are not applicable for this role.

Additional Information

Successful applicants will be expected to float to other units when necessary to address census needs, adhering to outlined competencies. The focus is to ensure that all personnel are equipped to provide quality patient care across various units.
