Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. This position requires flexibility, as the nurse will float between various units and specializations within the surgery department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operating Room, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.
• Circulate, assist, and monitor during surgical procedures in various specialties including OBGYN, Orthopedics, GI/GS, ENT, Pain Management, and Dental.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize EMR system (Epic) for documentation and patient management.
• Manage patient flow and maintain a safe and sterile environment in the Operating Room.

Schedule and Requirements:

• This position will typically require 5 shifts of 8 hours each per week, with the potential for 10-hour shift days.
• The nurse will be required to work every 3rd or 4th weekend and participate in variable call duties on weekends and nights.
• Expected nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4, depending on the area of the surgery department.
• Special requirements include the ability to work across multiple surgical specialties and areas, including Pre/Post-op, Circulating, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and Endoscopy.
• Float between units is a necessity; flexibility is essential.
