Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong orthopedic and general surgery experience, demonstrating the ability to transition smoothly into the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients in a medical surgical setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
• Monitor patient vital signs and overall health status.
• Assist with orthopedic patients, including total hip and knee procedures.
• Coordinate care with other nursing staff and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in charge nurse duties as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid KS state or compact license.
• Minimum of 2 years of medical surgical nursing experience.
• Strong orthopedic and general surgery experience is essential.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Experience with IV starts and telemetry is a plus.
• Rural health experience is advantageous.

Schedule

This position requires a commitment to night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with every other weekend required. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1.
