Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) with strong experience in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery. Candidates must be proficient in all three areas to ensure high-quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Scheduling Details

• Shift hours: 4x10s, 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM with a random day off
• Weekend Requirement: Rotation required with staff
• On-Call Requirement: Participates in call rotation with staff
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract

Required Licenses and Certifications

• BLS certification
• National certification through NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech Certification accepted
• Valid state license required; if traveling from out of state, a Virginia state license must be obtained

Clinical Skills Required

• Strong experience in general surgery, orthopedic procedures (including total joints), and neurosurgery
• Experience with big belly/crani/ortho trauma is highly preferred
• Training in robotic-assisted surgeries is highly preferred

The OR operates at a Level I Trauma Center with 25 operating rooms, providing comprehensive surgical services, including:

Patient Population

The surgical team serves a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

About the Facility

The facility is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital, recognized for nursing excellence, and affiliated with a prominent medical school. It is the region’s only Level I Trauma Center for both adults and pediatrics and is known for its advanced specialty care.
