Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room setting.
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients effectively.
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access as needed.
• Participate in daily huddles and communicate effectively using SBAR.
• Float between the Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Traveler experience is welcome; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Ability to float between different units as required.
• Minimum certification requirements include:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BCLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • MOAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior)

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts from 11:00 PM to 11:00 AM.
• Minimum of 36-48 hours per week available.
• Weekend coverage required; a minimum of 4 weekend days over a six-week period, possibly rotating every other weekend.
• Orientation period of 24 hours prior to starting the role.

Patient Population

This position supports a regional referral and tertiary care center, serving diverse patient populations.

Scrubs

Navy and white scrubs are required for this position.

Additional Information

All candidates must successfully pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty role.
