Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cardiac telemetry, progressive care, intermediate care, and stepdown nursing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with cardiac diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and those requiring pacemaker/ICD implantations.
• Administer cardiac drips including Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and diltiazem.
• Perform sheath pulls and handle TR Band and Femstop procedures.
• Participate in a storm or hurricane team as needed, and report to work during catastrophic events or disasters.
• Float to other units as required based on staffing needs.

Shift Details

This position requires working 12-hour night shifts from 1845 to 0715. Candidates may choose between 36 or 48-hour contracts and should be open to longer assignments ranging from 13 to 26 weeks.

Weekend shifts will be expected, with 5-6 shifts over a 6-week scheduling period. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with 2 years of relevant experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Strong background in cardiac telemetry, progressive care, and intermediate care.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Orientation and Equipment

A 24-hour unit orientation will be provided. Familiarity with Pyxis and EPIC for medication documentation and communication is required.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be navy blue. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
