Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. This position involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients within a 34-bed medical-surgical unit equipped with telemetry capabilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition or needs.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and care plans.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, specifically Cerner.

Shift Information

This is a night shift position requiring availability for either a 4×12 or 3×12 hour schedule. The scheduled hours are from 19:00 to 07:30. The position includes weekend shifts as part of a 4-week rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting.
• Current certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional composure.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
