Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced unit, specializing in orthopedic and neuro spine care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of orthopedics experience, including proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience: 2 years of nursing experience with a focus on ortho.
• Traveler Experience: First-time travelers are welcome if they have Epic experience.
• Required Certifications:
  • BCLS
  • NIH
• Preferred Skills:
  • ACLS
  • Charge Nurse Experience
  • Level I Trauma Experience

Scheduling Details:

• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Contract length: 20+ weeks with a hard stop of February 27, 2027.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required; if a nurse calls out on a weekend, they must make up that time.
• Block scheduling options are available (F/S/S or S/S/M schedule).
• RTO: 7 days maximum RTO will be automatically offered, but holiday RTO is not allowed.
• Call Requirement: None.
• Float Requirement: Traveling nurses may be required to float to any other medical-surgical unit as needed based on census.

Unit Details:

The unit has an average daily census of 37 with a total of 39 beds. We care for patients with orthopedic, neuro spine, medical-surgical, and post-surgical needs. The environment is fast-paced, and nurses must effectively manage patient pain.

Special Notes:

• Must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
• COVID-19 patients are integrated into the regular patient care protocol unless admitted to ICU.
