Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro ICU

Scheduling Details

• Shift Hours: 3x12s, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes
• Local Candidates Accepted: Yes, subject to radius rule
• Accepts Pending Licenses: Yes, with specific criteria

Charting

• EPIC experience required

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

• Previous neuro experience required, preferably at a large L1/L2 facility
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Ability to access/manage ports and arterial/PICC line management
• Knowledge of continuous IV paralytics, sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience in CVA/Acute Stroke management and post-surgical care for neurosurgery patients
• Respiratory skills including assistance with BiPAP/CPAP and care for ventilated patients

Unit Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Neurosurgery, neuro-specific diagnoses, complex spine conditions
• Special Procedures: External ventricular drains (EVDs), therapeutic thermoregulation
• Floating: May be required to float within skill set
