Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Position Overview

The Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment. The position requires experience in handling admitted patients, with an emphasis on Level 1 trauma cases.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department, including the administration of medications and IV treatments, while adhering to the seven medication rights.
• Document and communicate clinical findings effectively.
• Responsible for maintaining patient comfort and safety during treatment and procedures.
• Float to Pediatric Emergency Department and Adult Patient Care Units as required by staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of 2 years of Nursing experience, with preference for candidates having Level 1 trauma experience.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be obtained before submission).
• Candidates with 1.5 years of experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Travel experience is strongly preferred.
• Local candidates within a 100-mile radius will not be accepted.
• Pending licenses will be accepted.

Work Schedule

• 36 or 48-hour shifts available; the 48-hour option applies only to travelers with both Level 1 and travel experience.
• Weekend shifts are required as needed, with weekend nights considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Additional Information

• Travel assignments will primarily involve admitted patients, with a significant portion of emergency department cases requiring admission.
• The position is for a minimum of 10-week assignments, with a six-month break required after four consecutive assignments or upon reaching the one-year mark.
• There is a guarantee of contracted hours per week, with the facility allowed to call off staff up to three times during a 13-week assignment.
• COVID vaccination is optional, but reporting of vaccination numbers is required.
