Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our innovative team. This position will involve working in a 32-bed medical/surgical unit that focuses on the adoption of new technologies and innovative nursing practices. As a member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care while being at the forefront of new medical advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, adhering to established protocols and standards.
• Participate in the implementation and evaluation of new technologies and nursing practices.
• Foster a collaborative team environment by working effectively with other healthcare professionals.
• Float to other departments as needed to cover staffing requirements.

Schedule and Rotation

• Night shifts: 3×12 hours (19:00 – 07:00).
• Evening weekend shift requirement (every other weekend).
• Holiday rotation: Must work one summer and one winter holiday as part of the rotation.
• Staff are assigned to groups for self-scheduling, with rotation every scheduling period (weekly).

Patient Care Ratio

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• First-time applicants are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for this position.
• Pending licenses will not be accepted.

Additional Information

On the first day, the RN will report to Employee Health for intake and will then leave. The first scheduled shift will be on Tuesday following the intake.

Please note: Requests for time off (RTO) must be included in the assignment confirmation documents. For any holiday assignments, if one holiday falls within the period, expect to work it; if two holidays, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two.

Unit Information

This position will be in the Medical Innovation Unit, where team members work with Hercules beds and are dedicated to pioneering new technologies and nursing practices.
