Certified Surgical Technologist

Job Overview

The Certified Surgical Technologist will play a crucial role in the operating room by maintaining a sterile environment, assisting with surgical procedures, and ensuring that all surgical instruments are functioning properly and safely. This position requires travel experience and expertise in orthopedic surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the surgical patient and provide support to the surgical team.
• Maintain a sterile surgical environment and ensure the proper cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of equipment and instruments.
• Function under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, performing routine and delegated tasks per hospital and departmental policies.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including scrubbing in and handling instruments.
• Ensure all surgical equipment is operational and safe for use.
• May be requested to precept new staff members.
• Respond promptly to all situations that arise during surgery.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified surgical technologist.
• Experience in orthopedic surgeries is required.
• Prior travel experience in a surgical setting is necessary.
• Experience with the da Vinci surgical system is required.
• Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program is mandatory.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Work Schedule

• 8-hour evening shifts, from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Weekend, call, and holiday shifts are required.
• Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of being called in.
