Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and critical environment. This position requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work with diverse patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clear and effective oral communication and comprehension, ensuring understanding among team members and patients.
• Utilize deductive and inductive reasoning skills to assess and respond to patient needs.
• Maintain accurate written documentation and utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems proficiently.
• Support critical care procedures by demonstrating manual dexterity when managing IV lines, syringes, and related equipment.
• Apply information ordering skills for medication calculations and patient assessments.
• Adapt to working with diverse patient populations, recognizing cultural and spiritual influences on care.
• Manage time efficiently with minimal supervision, ensuring that all responsibilities are met in a timely manner.

Shift Requirements

• 36-hour workweek guarantee.
• Participation in holiday rotation is required.
• Weekend rotation is mandatory.
• On-call duties may be required during low census periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current Critical Care Unit (CCU) experience is required.
• Prior travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Experience with Cerner EMR systems is preferred.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS (AHA) are required.
• A valid Michigan state nursing license must be active upon submission.
