Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various surgical specialties and be comfortable circulating cases in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate a variety of surgical cases including General, GYN, Urology, Orthopedic, Neuro, ENT, Oral, and Plastics.
• Assist in managing patient care throughout the perioperative phase.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.
• Participate in pre-operative assessments and post-operative care.
• Handle patient documentation using Cerner EMR system.
• Assist with orientation and training for new staff members.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an OR setting.
• Current certifications in ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).

Work Schedule

This position primarily involves 10-hour day shifts (0700-1730) with the possibility of 8-hour evening shifts (1500-2330) approximately one week every five weeks. The RN will also cover one long call per week and one weekend call approximately every five to six weekends.

• Average Number of Cases per Day: 28
• Required surgical circulation experience includes cases such as bowel resections, laparoscopic surgeries, and orthopedic trauma.

Additional Information

• Scrubbing is not required.
• Full support from OR techs and a charge RN available at all times.
• Floating to the Outpatient Surgery Center may be required.
• Required to comply with uniform guidelines; scrubs will be provided.
• Orientation includes 2-3 days with an educator, followed by 1-2 weeks of hands-on case training.
