Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in supporting surgical procedures and ensuring patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, and surgical techs to ensure seamless procedural flow.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Prepare the operating room by ensuring the availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
• Assist in the education and mentorship of new staff and surgical techs as needed.
• Participate in on-call duties as scheduled, with a response time of 30 minutes.
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and hospital policies.

Required Qualifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• At least 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Comfortable with a variety of surgical procedures; familiarity with robotics is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Must be flexible and available for rotating days off, including weekday and weekend call.

Shift Details

The expected shift is from 0645 to 1715, with rotating days off. The position requires involvement in call rotations, and attendance is crucial for team support.

Orientation and Training

New hires will undergo a comprehensive one-week orientation to familiarize themselves with the facility’s practices and operating procedures.

Facility Overview

This facility includes 19 operating suites and handles approximately 55-60 cases daily, totaling around 1000 cases per month. It serves as a full-service center, specializing in most surgical procedures except for major pediatrics and transplants. It functions at a level 2 trauma capacity, addressing some orthopedic and neurological trauma cases.
