Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on the 3W Cardiac Tele unit. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in cardiac care, eager to provide exceptional patient care to adults and geriatric patients with various cardiac diagnoses.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry patients with primary and secondary cardiac diagnoses, including stroke/TIA and stable cardiac catheterization patients.
• Administer specialty medications and drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix.
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring tools via the Hicuity System.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Provide care that adheres to established protocols and guidelines.
• Ensure timely communication with physicians regarding patient status and care needs.
• Participate in floating to assist in lower acuity areas as necessary.

Shift Details

This position requires working three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid RN license in the state of Maryland.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH).
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience; first-time travelers with strong cardiac skills and experience may be considered.
