Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves working with patients requiring moderate to high monitoring and intervention, collecting patient data, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals in the stepdown unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Float to designated units such as J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department as needed.

Qualifications

• MUST have at least 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty.
• MUST possess a permanent Ohio license or a compact state license.
• AHA or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are required.
• Must demonstrate ECG rhythm recognition proficiency.
• Completion of SafeMedicate assessment is required during orientation.

Shift Information

The position requires working rotating shifts, including day and night shifts, totaling 12 hours each. Schedules may vary based on operational needs, with a requirement to work at least every other holiday.
