Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our surgical services team. The ideal candidate will perform surgical procedures in a dynamic and fast-paced setting, assisting in a variety of specialties.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12s, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Call: None
• Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
• Floating: May be required to float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs and float between similar units or sister facilities

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in surgical services
• Highly Preferred Experience: Neuro (spines/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotics (Davinci Xi) cases
• Common Cases: Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, GU/GYN
• Certifications Required: NBSTSA (MUSC does NOT accept NCCT), BLS
• Radiation Badge: Required – must be provided by the agency
• Trauma Level: Level 1 trauma experience required

Miscellaneous Information

• Local Candidates: Considered on a case-by-case basis
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called off hours can total up to 1 shift
• Parking: Parking management office to obtain permit; registration fee applies

Environment

The Main Operating Room is situated within a level-one, academic trauma center featuring 21 operating room suites. The team consists predominantly of registered nurses and certified surgical technologists, working in a Magnet-designated, nurse-driven department that utilizes cutting-edge technology.
