Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our team. This role requires proficiency in adult critical care work settings as well as the ability to provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; flexibility may be needed

Core Responsibilities

• Perform critical care procedures including extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, and oral airway placement.
• Provide pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection, along with tracheostomy care.
• Administer respiratory medications using various devices such as nebulizers and inhalers.
• Manage and deliver oxygen therapy via high flow nasal cannula and trach collar.
• Utilize BiPaP and CPAP while troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and assisting with weaning from mechanical ventilation.
• Float to other units as required, ensuring documented competencies in floating areas.

Qualifications

• Active RRT license is required; pending licenses will not be accepted.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC charting.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is mandatory.

Additional Information

All time-off requests, block, and special scheduling requests must be included with the application. The facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two weeks. Local candidates may apply, respecting the outlined radius rule.
