Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Registered Nurse who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves working in a 65-bed Emergency Department, which includes a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Administer IV therapy and phlebotomy as needed.
• Conduct EKGs and monitor cardiac activity.
• Perform point-of-care testing and splinting as required.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to manage patient care effectively.
• Provide patient education to promote health and wellness.
• Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Population

Care for a diverse patient population with a broad range of medical needs, as the department averages 230 visits per day.

Shifts and Availability

Candidates should be flexible with rotating shifts, including day rotations when necessary. Night positions will not rotate, but staff may be required to float to the Emergency Department Observation wing and Acute Mental Health unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience required.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records; experience with EPIC – ASAP is a plus.
