Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Description

This position is for a 65-bed Emergency Department that includes a pod-based structure, featuring a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area.

Position Details

• Years of Experience Required: 2 years of Emergency Nursing experience
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Population: All ages
• Annual Census: Approximately 230 visits/day

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and documentation
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
• Monitor EKGs and cardiac health
• Perform point-of-care testing and splinting
• Utilize critical thinking skills for patient care
• Provide patient education as needed

Shift Information

• Full-time positions available for 36 or 48 hours per week, primarily on nights and every other weekend
• Rotating shifts required for day shifts when requested (7a-7p, 11a-11p, & 7p-7a), with low frequency of rotation

Certification Requirements

• AHA Certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred

Floating Requirements

Floating may be required to the Emergency Department Observation wing (16 beds) and Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych OBs).

Charting System

Experience with EPIC (ASAP) is preferred.
