Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position requires expertise in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a wide variety of patient cases.

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) staff plays a vital role in providing high-quality care for patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. Responsibilities will include delivering care for critical conditions such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.

Unit Specific Information

• Number of Beds: 64 beds including 2 Triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psychiatric beds.
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac Arrest, Respiratory Failure.
• Specialty Equipment: Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to all assigned patients, including SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Administer medications, including pressors such as Levophed, Neo, Epi, and Vasopressin, as well as anticoagulants and sedation agents.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status promptly.
• Document and maintain accurate medical records using EMR, particularly EPIC.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing, with Pediatric experience preferred.
• Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC.
• Completion of a Skills Checklist matching the specialty required.
• Travel experience is mandatory.

Shift Information

This position is for the evening shift, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed and floating to other units may be required.
