Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Labor and Delivery to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment. The selected candidate will work within a unit that manages a variety of patient diagnoses related to obstetrics and gynecology, caring for expectant mothers and newborns throughout the ante-partum, intra-partum, and post-partum phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to pregnant patients, ensuring safety and well-being during labor and delivery.
• Utilize specialty equipment and technology such as OBIX to monitor and manage patient data and workflows within the EMR platform (EPIC/Stork).
• Participate in team-based care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide post-operative care for patients undergoing cesarean sections, ensuring timely recovery and intervention as needed.
• Float to other departments as required, adapting to various roles within the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP.
• Active RN license in New York State with verification from NURSYS.
• Experience with electronic medical records, particularly EPIC/Stork.
• Documented travel experience may be required for this position.

Shift Details

The position offers 12-hour variable shifts, with a requirement to be available for both day and night shifts. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Unit Information

• Unit comprises 18 beds, including:
• 3 Triage beds
• 2 Antepartum beds
• 2 Operating Rooms for c-sections
• 3 Recovery beds
• 8 Labor and Delivery beds
• Common patient diagnoses include various obstetric and gynecological conditions, as well as care for newborns.
• The designated scrub color for the unit is ceil blue.
