Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our maternity team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing comprehensive care for labor and postpartum patients in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

• Total Labor and Delivery Beds: 11
• Operating Room Suites for C-Sections: 1
• Triage Beds: 1
• Annual Births: Approximately 320
• AWHONN Guidelines for Ratios: Yes

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Monitor and manage epidurals and IV medications to induce labor.
• Assist in C-section recoveries, unless under general anesthesia.
• Collaborate with the OB and anesthesia teams which are available 24/7.
• Utilize electronic fetal monitoring systems (Novii, GE) for patient assessments.
• Support the special care nursery babies, with respiratory therapy assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, NRP
• Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) settings is essential.
• Ability to titrate epidurals and administer IV medications effectively.
• Must be adaptable and willing to float to other units as needed, functioning within appropriate scope of practice.

Schedule

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling options.
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend.
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.

Orientation

• Unit/Department Specific Orientation: 2 shifts.
