Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our float pool, providing vital support across various medical surgical units. This position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities to enhance your clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population.

Position Details

• Start Date: 02/01
• Duration: 8-week assignment
• Shift Requirements: Combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights.
• Week Schedule: One week with one 12-hour shift and three 8-hour shifts in a 4-week period; rotations may occur within the same week with ample breaks in between.
• Availability: All candidates must be available to work every other weekend and during holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Caring for patients across 15 medical surgical units, including specialties such as neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, surgery, oncology, and transplant care.
• Administering medications and treatments, including nebulizers and IV medications as required.
• Conducting unit-specific procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, blood transfusions, and telemetry monitoring.
• Maintaining a patient ratio of 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights, ensuring excellent patient care and support.
• Flexibly adapting to assignments within a 2-3 week period, with potential short notice for shifts.

Qualifications

• Current registered nurse license in Massachusetts required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience required.
• Travel experience is highly preferred.
• Current certifications in CPR (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) are required.
• Basic computer skills required, with experience navigating web-based applications; Epic experience is mandatory.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise preferred; Level I trauma experience is essential.

Orientation and Scrubs

• Orientation is conducted weekly, every Monday (excluding holidays).
• Any color scrubs are acceptable for the position.
