Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This position involves working within a dynamic float pool, supporting a range of medical surgical units specialized in various fields including neurology, cardiac care, bariatric services, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, genitourinary, hips and joints, oncology, transplant liver and kidney, and vascular care.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer therapies and interventions as designated by patient care protocols.
• Oversee patient care including telemetry monitoring, administration of nebulizers, and blood transfusions.
• Conduct unit-specific procedures such as 12 lead EKGs and Lasix gtt administration.
• Support patient assignment across various medical surgical units as assigned, adapting quickly to unit-specific needs.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide high-quality care to patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation for patient care activities.

Work Schedule

Shifts will consist of a combination of 8 and 12 hour rotations, covering day and night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday availability required. The weekly schedule will include a mix of shifts, ensuring flexibility and rotation amongst the team.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise is a plus.
• Level I trauma experience is essential.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications are required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is necessary.
• CPR and ACLS certifications must be current.

Additional Information

Orientation sessions take place weekly on Mondays, except for holidays. All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application. Candidates will be required to wear any color scrubs while on duty. Parking costs may apply based on working hours, and public transportation is available.
