Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality care for mothers and newborns in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Shift Information

• Shift: Night shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
• Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts per week

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
• Assist in the delivery of approximately 900 babies per year.
• Monitor and assess the condition of both mothers and newborns, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and pediatricians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Occasionally float to Medical Surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency departments as needed, estimated 2-3 times during a 13-week contract.

Qualifications

• License: Current Registered Nurse license in Kansas or a compact state.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required.
• Weekends: Required to work every other weekend.

Unit Information

• 10 bed Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• 4 bed Gynecology (GYN) unit
• 14 Well-baby beds
• 3 Special Care Nursery beds

• Locals are allowed, with a variation in local rate.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Floating among departments is to be expected occasionally.
