Oncology Nurse

Shift Information

Day shift: 8 AM – 5 PM

Overview

An opportunity exists for a dedicated and qualified Oncology Registered Nurse to provide care in an outpatient setting. This role focuses on infusion therapy, chemotherapy administration, and some wound care. The ideal candidate will work closely with a small group of patients, emphasizing the importance of building nurturing relationships while performing a wide range of general nursing duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in an outpatient oncology setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and infusion therapy while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Perform wound care as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of infection control principles and techniques to prevent adverse reactions to treatments.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills in rapidly changing environments.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Work independently while also being a valuable team member.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current ONS Provider certification required.
• Current, unencumbered RN license from Utah or a compact state.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Wound Care certification preferred, but not required.
• Ability to manage stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
• Reliability in meeting work schedule and responsibilities.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as assigned.
• Full COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption required.
