Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position focuses on providing exceptional care to critically ill patients with neurological diagnoses, including neurotrauma, status epilepticus, stroke, and spinal cord injuries. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical care skills and a commitment to high-quality nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Neuroscience ICU.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and responses to treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care strategies.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and establish appropriate care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of strong critical care nursing experience is required.
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience is required.
• Preferred minimum of 2 years of Neuro critical care nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Valid nursing license and proof of any necessary certifications.

Scheduling

This position offers 36 to 48 hours per week with options for straight nights or a rotating day/night schedule. Availability for every other weekend and every other holiday is also required.

Unit Description

The Neuroscience ICU provides specialized care for critically ill adults suffering from complex neurological conditions. The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1:2, accommodating a consistent bed count of 24 with an average census of 22 patients.
