Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position requires the ability to float to multiple medical/surgical telemetry units as needed. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care across various units.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac patients, including telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac strips every four hours.
• Manage cardiac drips and assist with medication administration as necessary.
• Provide care to a diverse patient population, including emergency department border patients and those in acute mental health units.
• Float between multiple medical/surgical telemetry units within the organization as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Massachusetts RN License.
• At least two years of acute care hospital experience is preferred.
• Two years of experience working as a traveler nurse is highly desirable.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.

Skills Required

• Experience in telemetry monitoring and ability to interpret cardiac telemetry strips.
• Proficient in administering cardiac drips and has TR Band experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Additional Information

• Shift rotations will include days, evenings, and nights; weekend rotation is required.
• The clinician-to-patient ratio is up to 5:1 during days and evenings, and up to 6:1 during nights.
• The facility has a total bed count of 371, with units ranging from 8 to 41 beds.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is EPIC.
