Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. This position involves providing high-quality respiratory care in various clinical settings, including critical care and general care for both adults and pediatrics. The successful candidate will be flexible, willing to float between departments as needed, and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care during night shifts.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 3×12 night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, including weekdays and some weekends.
• Floating may be required within the scope of practice to meet facility needs.
• Guaranteed hours: 72-80 per pay period.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapies and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Perform diagnostic tests and evaluate patient respiratory function.
• Manage ventilators and other respiratory assistance equipment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory health and management.

Qualifications

• Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and NALS for pediatric care.
• BLS certification required.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Certification must be current and valid in the state of practice.

Additional Information

• Fit test completion is required prior to starting; the candidate’s agency will coordinate this process.
• Local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be considered. Exceptions may be made for candidates within 75-100 miles.
• Requests for time-off must be submitted two weeks in advance and require manager approval.
• Candidates will be required to receive a flu shot, without exception, unless a documented medical allergy is provided.

Facility Overview

This position is part of a short-term acute care facility that serves as a Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized as a major teaching hospital, with a total of 855 staffed beds. The facility utilizes Cerner for charting and offers free parking for travelers.
