Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:

The competent Nurse practices independently within the clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care while focusing on long-range goals and plans. The Nurse continues to develop skills to manage contingencies in clinical nursing and is responsible for making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet the expectations outlined in the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in alignment with their level of care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers, identifying issues and available resources.

Job Requirements:

Education and Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

• BLS certification required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact required.

Work Schedule:

This full-time position offers shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Dress Code:

Candidates are required to wear ceal blue scrubs.

Patient Care Ratio:

The nurse/patient ratio is typically 5:1 or 6:1.

EMR Used:

This position requires proficiency in using the Epic electronic medical record system.
