Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical Telemetry to join our team for night shifts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with the ability to handle various patient diagnoses effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data, managing dysrhythmias as necessary.
• Administer medications, including blood products, and manage IV lines and access devices.
• Assist with pre/post-operative care and management of surgical drains.
• Manage patients with complex needs including renal failure, sepsis, and GI issues.
• Support respiratory treatments and non-invasive airway management.
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams as required.
• Document patient care and interventions accurately using electronic systems.
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols diligently.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting.
• Certification in BLS and NIHSS; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in charge roles is advantageous.
• Familiarity with EKG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Ability to float to other units as needed.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45 – 07:15.
• 36 or 48 hours per week available.
• Rotating weekends: every other weekend required.

Additional Information

• This position may require working during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations.
• Orientation period of 24 hours will be provided to all new hires.
• Required to wear navy blue or white scrubs during shifts.
