Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg/Telemetry

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Med/Surg and Telemetry to join our team. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and support during their recovery and treatment.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3×12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other
• RTO: 7 days maximum
• Float Requirement: Required to float to the main campus as necessary

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a Med/Surg and Telemetry unit.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, managing any abnormalities.
• Administer medications and manage IV sites, including central lines and PICC lines.
• Perform phlebotomy, blood product administration, and pre/post hemodialysis management.
• Manage complex patient care including colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, and wound care.
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and document care accurately using electronic systems.

• Diabetes
• Dementia
• COPD
• Sepsis
• Various post-surgical recovery cases
• Renal failure
• Congestive heart failure (CHF)
• And more

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Traveler experience is accepted, including first-time travelers.
• Must possess current BLS and NIHSS certifications. ACLS certification is preferred.
• Charge experience preferred.
• Ability to perform complex nursing tasks and manage patient care effectively.

Unit Orientation

A 24-hour orientation will be provided to facilitate a smooth transition into your role.

Scrubs

Scrubs should be navy blue or white.

Additional Notes

Contract staff may be required to work during catastrophic events or disasters and may be part of a Storm Team or Hurricane Team.
