Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical Surgical nursing to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring a high standard of patient safety and comfort.

Shift Information

This position is for night shifts, requiring three 12-hour shifts per week, from 19:00 to 07:00.

Unit Details

• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Room Capacity: 49 Rooms with an average daily census of 48
• Unit Systems: Epic (Required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical surgical unit.
• Utilize Epic and other unit systems for patient documentation and medication management.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team using SBAR protocols.
• Participate in the coordination of care among multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support patient needs and advocate for their rights.
• Adhere to safety protocols and nursing best practices.
• May float within the facility as mandated by patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a medical surgical setting.
• Charge experience is preferred but not required for first-time travelers.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Knowledge of renal medical-surgical nursing practices is preferred.

Work Requirements

• Availability to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified.
• Compliance with all necessary documentation to start on time.
• Work during specified major holidays as required by assignment.
• Maximum requested time-off (RTO) of 7 days.
