Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trauma care and be comfortable working in a high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver effective and compassionate care.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias as required.
• Utilize EPIC charting systems for patient documentation.
• Participate in continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation, if applicable.
• Triaging patients effectively based on their needs.

Schedule

This role requires availability during weekends, specifically across three weekends (Friday to Sunday) within a four-week schedule. The nurse may work one, two, or all three days during weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Active state nursing license.
• ACLS certification.
• BCLS certification by AHA.
• PALS certification.
• TNCC certification.
• NIH Stroke Certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Level 1 Trauma environment.
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Proficiency in EPIC charting.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation.
• Experience in triaging patients effectively.

Additional Information

The emergency department currently operates with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6, which may increase to up to 1:8 during peak times or holidays. Candidates must be prepared for a demanding yet rewarding work environment.
