Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in a MedSurg Oncology setting. This position is focused on delivering high-quality patient care, particularly in the MS/Tele unit. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions and providing emergency response as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years of experience is required.
• Traveler Experience: The unit accepts first-time travelers.
• Locals Accepted: Yes, with a rate difference.
• Work Setting Skills: Proficiency in MS/Tele systems is required.
• Cardiac Monitoring: Skills in interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of rapid response/code teams.
• IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Experience in blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Respiratory Skills: Knowledge of nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
• Professional Topics: Familiarity with isolation precautions and proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Certifications: BCLS and NIH required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Work Setting Skills: Experience in telemetry preferred.
• Cardiac Monitoring: Management of dysrhythmias preferred.
• Certifications: OCN and Chemo Administration preferred.

Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients; 36 beds in total.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• RTO: Maximum of 7 days for auto offers.
• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to all areas with Med-Surg patients; a strong med-surg background is necessary.
• Weekend Requirement: Required to work every other weekend.

Unit Systems

Experience with Epic and Pyxis is preferred.

Orientation

Initial orientation will be for 24 hours.

Scrubs

Navy scrubs are required.
