Job Summary

This position entails providing comprehensive nursing care in a Med-Surg Oncology unit. The role requires strong clinical expertise, particularly in telemetry and emergency response, to ensure patient safety and optimal care delivery.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Willingness to accept first-time travelers.

• Work Setting Skills: MS/Tele
• Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response: Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and collaborate with Rapid Response/Code teams.
• IV Therapy/Phlebotomy Skills: Experience in blood product administration, central line care, peripheral line management, and starting and maintaining IVs.
• Respiratory Skills: Competence in nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
• Professional Topics and Skills: Familiarity with isolation precautions and PPE.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Work Setting Skills: Telemetry experience.
• Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response: Management of dysrhythmias.
• Certifications: OCN & Chemotherapy Administration.

Job Details

• Target Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients; 36 beds available.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15).
• RTO: Maximum of 7 days for automatic offers.
• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to all areas holding Med-Surg patients; a robust med-surg background is required.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is mandatory.
• Unit Systems: Experience with Epic and Pyxis is a plus.
• Orientation: 24 hours.
• Scrubs: Navy blue scrubs are required.
