Emergency Room (ER) Nurse

Job Overview

The Emergency Room Nurse provides critical care in a fast-paced environment, catering to a diverse patient population. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in emergency medicine, as well as the ability to handle a high volume of cases efficiently and effectively.

Shift Information

• Shift: Evenings
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

Unit Information

The Emergency Center includes:

• Approximately 180–200 patient visits per day
• Behavioral lock-down area with psych staffing
• Ratios of 1 nurse to 4 patients

Required Experience and Certifications

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
• At least 1 travel assignment required
• Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS Certification
  • CPI
  • NIHSS
  • PALS
  • TNCC

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to emergency patients of all ages, including trauma and neuro patients.
• Conduct lab draws and initiate IVs as needed.
• Monitor patients in the Emergency Department using Meditech EMR (version 6.15).
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists.
• Participate in the callout process as needed.
• Complete orientation and training within the first week of employment.
