Physical Therapist

Shift Information: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with a lunch break from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. Flexibility in work hours may be required. Must be available to work Saturdays without exceptions.

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years

Certifications/Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

Job Description

The primary responsibilities include conducting evaluations and providing treatments for patients in various settings:

• Inpatient (25%): Acute, ICU, Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
• Outpatient (75%)

Working in a rural area will require the ability to provide independent, thorough care approaches across a range of outpatient diagnoses and facilitate mobility progression for acute to SNF inpatient cases, including discharge planning.

Physical therapists will have responsibilities in emergency rooms, intensive care units, medical/surgical units (acute and observation), and occasionally in obstetrics, as well as extensive work in a hospital-based outpatient physical therapy clinic.

A typical patient schedule will include a mix of inpatient and outpatient sessions, averaging 30-45 minutes per appointment (one hour for new evaluations), seeing between 5 and 15 patients daily.

Note: Obtaining a Hawaii physical therapy license as soon as possible is required.
