ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, specifically within an intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and other pertinent data.
• Titrate drips as needed, including medications such as Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, and Dopamine.
• Utilize RT equipment including mechanical ventilators and noninvasive ventilation.
• Read and interpret telemeter strips independently.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Manage critical situations effectively, adhering to BLS and ACLS protocols.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care nursing experience required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Ability to pass an ECG examination on the second day of employment.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.

Patient Population:

The unit accommodates a variety of patients with complex conditions, including:

• Stroke and acute ischemic stroke
• Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH)
• Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)
• Subdural hematoma (SDH)
• Brain tumors
• Cerebral edema and increased intracranial pressure (ICP)
• Acute respiratory failure
• Sepsis and septic shock
• Pneumonia and ARDS
• COPD and asthma exacerbations
• Acute heart failure and pulmonary edema
• Acute kidney injury (AKI)
• Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and Hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS)
• Gastrointestinal bleeding and acute liver failure
• Severe electrolyte abnormalities

Unit Information:

• Patient bed capacity: 16
• Staffing ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
• Two clinical techs available for support
• No tele/monitor technicians on the unit

Work Schedule:

Shifts are typically from 7 PM to 7 AM, with holiday requirements including one major and one minor holiday each year. Scrubs should be navy blue.
