Dietitian

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietitian to join our team for an inpatient position. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing nutritional assessments, interventions, and support to a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics, in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments and reassessments for patients.
• Provide nutrition-focused physical exams.
• Manage nutrition therapy complications effectively.
• Implement enteral nutrition and therapeutic diet orders.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care.
• Meet department productivity expectations of 10-12 interventions per day.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dietitian required.
• Experience in acute care settings is mandatory.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is required.
• Active Dietitian licensure in Maryland is necessary.
• Proficient in using Cerner for charting.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position scheduled for 5 days a week, working 8-hour shifts.

Time Off Policy

• Requests for time off (RTO) up to 14 days are auto-approved.
• All major winter and summer holidays are required working days with no RTO approval.
• No time off is permitted on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day.

Additional Information

• This role is designed for a minimum duration of 3 months.
• On-site Dietitian team responsibilities include writing TPN orders; however, this is not required for the temporary position.
• The department currently supports an average daily census of approximately 185 patients with a team of 4 inpatient Dietitians.
