Surgical Technologist / LVN / LPN

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. This role involves maintaining aseptic techniques and providing support to patients during their surgical journey.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical duties to assist in preparing pre-operative patients.
• Prepare patient skin for surgery according to established standards.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor for any breaches.
• Provide comfort and support to pre-operative patients while respecting their privacy.
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
• Position patients according to the specific needs of the surgical procedure.
• Identify and care for biological specimens as necessary.
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies based on the type of surgical case.
• Collaborate effectively as a member of the surgical team.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to technical and aseptic practices.
• Demonstrate expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Follow Universal Barrier Precautions for safety in all patient care situations.
• Monitor and control the surgical environment, ensuring proper dress codes and adherence to sanitation policies.
• Adapt patient care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience preferred.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position that requires working five days a week with eight-hour shifts. Weekend work and floating between locations will be required.

Technical Requirements

Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) using EPIC is preferred.
