Surgical Technologist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist with the ability to scrub and circulate in various surgical specialties. This position requires expertise in thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotics procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Assist in the setup of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Scrub and circulate for a variety of cases, including but not limited to:
• Orthopedic
• Neuro
• Maxillofacial
• ENT
• Plastics
• Vascular
• Colo-Rectal
• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Robotics
• Urology
• Spine
• Podiatry
• Thoracic
• Breast Surgery
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure operational efficiency and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically EPIC.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be American Heart Association certified).
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in a comparable setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency in scrubbing and circulating in the specified surgical specialties.

Additional Information

• Number of surgical suites: 11
• Caseload: Approximately 25-35 cases per day
• Shift Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM; shifts are assigned without block scheduling options.
• Orientation: Floor-specific, with one week for day shifts and two weeks for night shifts.
• Scrubs are provided by the institution.
