Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a surgical patient population. This position requires proficiency in IV starts and telemetry management. Candidates must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to surgery patients, including those undergoing colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, and orthopedic/spine procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, manage intravenous therapy, and assist with various surgical procedures as required.
• Utilize clinical systems including Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC for patient management and documentation.
• Conduct self-scheduling based on unit needs with input from the nursing manager.
• Participate in unit orientation upon commencement of employment.

Work Schedule

• Shifts: 12 hours, Night shift from 18:45 – 07:15.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks with an option for either 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
• Float requirement: Occasional floating to other units as needed.

Additional Information

• Must pass EKG Testing prior to starting in this specialty area.
• Block scheduling requests will be evaluated by the unit manager on a case-by-case basis.
• Scrubs must be navy blue or white and are not provided.
