ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The successful candidate will work with a diverse patient population, primarily adults to geriatrics, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum Experience: 2 years; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIH.
General Skills and Responsibilities
The Nurse will handle various critical conditions, including but not limited to:
- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)
- Sepsis
- Stroke
- ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Post-operative complications
- Cardiogenic shock
- Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) exacerbations
- Encephalopathy
- Liver failure
- Drug overdoses
- End-stage renal disease (ESRD) on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Work Setting and Schedule
- Patient Ratio: 1:2-3; travelers should be prepared to care for up to 3 patients.
- Unit Capacity: 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19 patients.
- Unit Systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR.
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue.
- Request Time Off (RTO): Maximum of 7 days.
- Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
- Floating: May be required within the facility as needed.
Holiday Work Requirements
Travelers are expected to work during holidays as follows:
- One major holiday: Required to work.
- Two major holidays: Required to work both.
- Three major holidays: Required to work at least two.
Major holidays include:
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving/Black Friday
- Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
- New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day
Compliance and Screening
Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant, there may be a delay of up to 2 weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Candidates will undergo a clinical screening process to ensure a suitable clinical fit before being presented to management for final decision-making.
