Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU Float

Job Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Float. The candidate will be expected to float between multiple units within the healthcare setting, providing care to adult and geriatric patients.

Position Details

• Guarantee: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year; new graduates are welcome
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH
• General Skills Required: Experience with MS, MS Tele, and PCU diagnoses
• Weekends: Required every other weekend; approximately 6 weekends in a 13-week contract
• Floating: Mandatory across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
• RTO: Maximum of 7 days
• Holidays: Expected to work one major holiday if it falls within the assignment period; requirements increase with the number of holidays

Work Environment

The candidate will be working 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00) within a float pool setting. Unit systems used include Epic and Pyxis, with SBAR communication standards in place.

Compliance Requirements

• Full compliance required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week delay due to orientation schedules.

Note

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate, and the number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours will be determined by the length of the contract.
