Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU Float

Position Overview

The PCU Float position is focused on providing high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population, ranging from adults to geriatrics. Registered Nurses will be required to float to various units, including Med-Surg, Med-Surg Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
• Monitor and assess patients, ensuring timely intervention for any changes in condition.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
• Float as necessary among different units based on hospital needs.

Patient Ratios

• 1:4-5 for Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• 1:5-6 for Med-Surg and Med-Surg Telemetry units

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system is required.
• Must be flexible with scheduling and available to float to various units.

Work Schedule

• Full-time commitment with a 36 or 48-hour guarantee.
• Day shift: 4×12 hours from 07:00 to 19:00.
• Every other weekend is required, averaging 6 weekends in a 13-week contract.
• Holiday coverage is expected if assigned during major holidays.

Compliance

Full compliance with all onboarding requirements is necessary to start the position on time. Failure to meet compliance may result in a delay of up to 2 weeks due to the orientation schedule.
