Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Shift Details

12-hour night shifts with a commitment of 36 hours per week. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to women during labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care for mothers and newborns. You will work in a supportive environment that emphasizes individualized care and collaboration with obstetricians and midwives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to expectant mothers in labor.
• Assist in delivery and provide postpartum care for mothers and infants.
• Collaborate closely with medical and nursing staff to support patient preferences and needs.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in maternal and neonatal care.
• Maintain monitoring equipment and ensure the comfort and security of patients.

Qualifications

• 2 years of current experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience in Postpartum/Mother-Baby care.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Massachusetts RN license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• STABLE certification (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support).
• Traveler must have their own vehicle for transportation.

Orientation and Scheduling

There will be an orientation period of 8 hours, which is non-billable. Requested time off during the assignment must be noted and verified at the time of profile upload. No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted, and all scheduling requests must be made at the time of submission. Holiday commitments include working on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day weekends.

The role is set in a serene and supportive environment equipped with private rooms, modern monitoring equipment, and specialized operating rooms for Cesarean births. Commitment to patient satisfaction and quality care is paramount.

Additional Information

This position is subject to the requirement that the candidate must hold a Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License. Candidates located within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for this position.
